The SouthEastErn US (SEEUS) "Southern Saints - LDS Network" is a Social Networking Community devoted to helping Southern Latter-Day Saints share information about LDS activities, events, special meetings, etc., that are taking place in the SouthEastErn US. The Southern Saints - LDS Network provides community members, with a means of helping each other know what, when and where LDS activities are taking place in the South. With your contributions to blogs, forums, articles, chats, etc., we can have an LDS content rich environment for those of us who live in the SouthEastErn US.

We all know that "Out West" there are always Church centered/related activities taking place with a lot of information available for notifying people of these events. LDS activities are common and plentiful among in the"Western States" and among "Western Saints", and notification and announcements are readily available. However, for us here in the South, we are limited in the ways in which we receive information concerning Church activities, or even other non-LDS 'wholesome' activities, taking place in OUR area.

By implementing a Social Networking Online Community with a stated purpose of helping Southern Saints better communicate, we can begin to accomplish more for the Church and spreading the Gospel message than has been done in the past. I'm sure you will be able to think of creative ways to use the network for 'doing good in the world', other than posting local activities and/or being notified of LDS activities taking place in the South. With the communication programs offered by the Network, information about Church activities, inspiring stories, articles about our lifestyle, announcements about good wholesome entertainment, and information about living in the South, can help each of us in our quest for living our lives the best we can, and in helping others along the way.

It is my hope and prayer that this project is one that will be of great worth to Southern Saints. I am reminded of comments by the General Authorities regarding using the internet in ways that will help spread the Gospel and help in doing good in the world. Maybe this is one way to help fulfill that call to action. With your prayers and support, I know that we can develop a positive web presence for Southern Saints.
